Comparison of the diagnostic criteria for PreDiabetes on a overweight population

Introduction: ‘PreDiabetes’ was considered as a categories of increased risk for diabetes on the last ADA recommendations in 2010. The proposed diagnostic criteria include an HbA1c value between 5.7 and 6.4%, impaired fasting glucose (IFG) (100–125 mg/dl) and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) levels (2-h values in the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) of 140 to 199 mg/dl).
